Climbing Rose is the best common name for this species as it sends out long, arching canes which eventually root at the tips. It will grow over nearby vegetation or can be trained to climb over objects; an ideal species to form a thicket or barrier with. It has beautiful 2" to 3" pink flowers typically starting around the solstice. This species is sometimes also referenced as Michigan Rose or Illinois Rose.
